A joint venture between property specialists including television celebrity and guru Sarah Beeny. Completing Chains devised a unique concept aimed at estate agents that is supported by a new process to re-energise the housing market.
Objectives
To be creative in developing, evolving and designing the technology platform.
To use the tool as a primarily web based system to capture buyer and seller property details.
To generate real time matching of data to provide ‘chain’ opportunities.
To develop a consumer facing online presence to datacapture following the national television, radio and press campaigns.
Solution
Using Java enterprise platform, we developed a highly scalable and resilient web based software solution with a clear and concise user interface.
Our own user centred design process incorporated feedback from the property market to ensure the workflow was both logical and appropriate for the target users.
As a platform expected to thrive, usage and systems needed to be flexible and highly scalable. Using robust software engineering principles allowed us to cope with all possible volumes and to scale over multiple, distributed servers.
Security was clearly an issue and the system was built with this and integrity as a core requirement. All user activity and business logic decisions can be monitored via a system wide audit trail.
An intelligent ‘matching’ engine was built to provide real time updates and notifications as the buyer and seller databases combined. This also reflected the changes within the agency accounts.
Results
Once all the buyers and sellers are in place, the chain is matched with a first time buyer.
In order to complete the chain, the registered agents work with all parties in the chain in order to release enough equity to make the first time buyer home affordable and hence get the chain moving.
Testing of the system has been very sound and Sarah Beeny and the team have had inclusion on national television, radio and newspapers.
