Objectives
Produce a bespoke real-time price quoting application for ICAP traders, customers and clients for the BlackBerry mobile platform.
Be creative in designing and developing a sophisticated and sleek user interface.
Refine and deliver a compelling user experience by reducing user interface complexity, without needing separate or fragmented apps.
Solution
We formed a our own dedicated project development team, who focused on creative design and software engineering for the BlackBerry experience, as well as working closely with ICAP’s own staff.
As a member of the BlackBerry Alliance Partnership Programme we were able to work closely with specialist RIM (Research in Motion) consultants throughout the duration of the project. Thus helping us to ensure the application’s perfect BlackBerry compatibly.
We produced mock ups and proposals for user interface design that incorporated the ICAP branding guidelines. As well as a technical design and development proposals which were reviewed by the senior ICAP staff and RIM consultants.
Result
Having had previous experience in developing real time applications; we were able to create a highly available mobile client with real-time streaming price data, which was able to integrate with ICAP’s in-house pricing infrastructure seamlessly.
Paying close attention to hardware compatibility, we ensured that the application was compatible with current and popular BlackBerry devices such as, the BlackBerry Bold, Curve, Pearl, Storm and Torch. This crucial detail will help allow the application to gain widespread exposure.
We are currently working on phase 2 of the development which is to include charting, graphing and analysis of historic market data from the BlackBerry device.
