Wiggle is the largest retailer of bikes in the UK and a significant global presence. They have developed some of their own specialist brands such as Verenti for sportive events.
Objectives
Establish an online presence to back up the premium nature of the bikes.
Provide consumers with detailed product information to support the Wiggle retail site.
Develop an established feel to the brand and products.
Provide an outlet for communicating sportive events and the latest developments in products and accessories.
Solution
We developed a premium look to the site and utilised AJAX and DHTML for the product pages to provide an immersive and interactive experience with the imagery. The product photography was excellent so we wanted to make good use of this and show the quality and detail of the product to its fullest.
We developed the existing product brand further to work online with the premium nature of the product. This was done through a series of iterative concepts involving the key stakeholders and product design team.
Community elements such as a blog and events calendar were incorporated as well as links through to retailers and purchase.
We ensured the content developed a brand story and history behind it to provide an established feel.
Results
The online presence combined with sponsoring some of the key national sportive events has led to a very rapid development of an established brand.
Product sales and interest in sportive have risen significantly and the cycling press have provided high praise.
